Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held around the country Saturday.

It gives people an opportunity to safely dispose of expired and/or unwanted medications.

Mayo Clinic is once again partnering with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Olmsted Medical Center, Zumbro Valley Medical Society, and the Drug Enforcement Agency to sponsor a community drop-off location.

The public can anonymously drop off unwanted meds at the Gonda West entrance on Third Avenue SW from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All you have to do is drive up and hand over the unwanted drugs. They will be disposed of by the Sheriff’s Office and DEA.

More than 2,100 pounds of unwanted medications were collected in Rochester last year during two similar events.
