Two Killed in Traffic Wreck in NE Minnesota
Deer River, MN (KROC AM News) - There has been another deadly traffic wreck in Minnesota, this time in the northeastern part of the state.
It happened around 6:00 PM Wednesday near Deer River.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a semi-truck that was on Highway 46 struck the side of an oncoming pickup truck and then collided head-on with a car. The car was right behind the pickup and its driver and passenger were fatally injured.
They were identified as 34-year-old Steven Kubiszewski of Wyoming, Minnesota and 57-year-old Arthur Kubiszewski of Chisago City.
The pickup was driven by 39-year-old Jake Perrington of Deer River. He and a passenger were not hurt. The driver of the semi-truck- 47-year-old Jason Evans of Deer River - also escaped injury.
The State Patrol describes the road condition as snow/ice but it’s not known if that was a factor in the deadly wreck.
