Two Girls In Oronoco, Minnesota Are Helping Feed Kids All Over The World
Last fall, I brought my kids to a house in Oronoco that had a little garage sale. It wasn’t a normal garage sale though, because there were only pumpkins and cupcakes for sale. My kids were fine with that (hello, sugar!) but there was a twist that they were excited about too.
Anna (9) and Adison Majsterski (12) have been growing pumpkins and making cupcakes at their house for the last five years. The reason? Kids. Kids that are the same age as them, or even younger, that are all over the world and don’t have enough to eat.
$2,400 has been raised over the last five years from selling all of those pumpkins and cupcakes and all of that money has gone directly to Feed My Starving Children, a Christian non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children.
If you’ve got kids that want to help out other kids, Anna and Adison have an idea! Coming up on June 7th & 8th, a food packing event is happening at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and 5,000 volunteers are needed. Ready to sign up? Here’s the info:
