The St. Paul Winter Carnival has been going on since 1886, this will be the 135th year! I had no idea it's been going on for so long. Because of the pandemic, things had to be altered slightly for this upcoming Winter Carnival. One of the main events is a drive-thru ice and snow sculpture event, and tickets have recently gone on sale!

This drive-thru event will be taking place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds starting January 28th through February 7th. Each ticket is in a 30-minute time slot. The hours of the drive-thru event are Mondays through Thursdays 4-9:30 PM, Fridays noon-10 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays 9 AM-10 PM.

When you purchase a ticket you'll select the date and the 30 minutes time slot of your choice. Regular tickets are $20 per vehicle which gets you into the event plus a "UCare or Xcel Energy Swag Bag filled with goodies!" But if you want to upgrade that will cost you more. For example, you can get VIP Admission for $35 per vehicle which, according to their site, gets you "special VIP lane access ..., a Winter Carnival ice scraper, an exclusive theme day package, and one UCare or Xcel Energy Swag Bag filled with goodies!"

There are some cool VIP theme days that they have going on during the event, which was mentioned in what you'd get with a VIP admission ticket. The theme days include Northern Soda Day, Crayola Experience Family Day, National Hot Chocolate Day, The Croods: A New Age Day, Saint Paul Saints Day, Minnesota Twins Day, and Minnesota Made Day. You can take a look at more details about these theme days on their website.
