Minnesota has a ton of golf courses. Not just across southeast Minnesota, which we know is a hot-bed for golfing, but three of them in the Land of 10,000 Lakes cracked the Top 100 in the nation.

According to Bring Me The News, the three golf courses that cracked the Top 100 are The Quarry at Giants Ridge in Bibawik, The Classic at Madden's Resort in Brainerd, and The Wilderness at Fortune Bay in Tower.

The Quarry at Giants Ridge is ranked 31st overall on the Top 100 rankings, and Golf Digest describes it as a very link-like course.

"Its very inventive design also demands some aerial play, too. A standout is its 13th, a drivable par 4 that's nearly as wide as it is long, with three alternate routes to a 100-yard-wide green," the description adds.

The Classic at Madden's Resort is a beautiful course that I have driven by multiple times to play one of the other, cheaper, courses at Madden's. My golf game is terrible, but boy would I love to try out The Classic just one time. The Classic is rated at 59 on this year's list.

"It's beautiful but not for the faint of heart, a hilly course with some narrow, pine-lined fairways and occasional challenging shots over water from sidehill or downhill lies," says Golf Digest.

The Wilderness at Fortune Bay actually won America's Best New Upscale Public Course award back in 2005. It comes in at number 72 on this year's list.

"Where The Quarry uses slopes and ramps, Wilderness rewards aerial play, with some high-low alternate fairways, lake-edged greens and a pair of drop-shot par 3s," says Gold Digest.

Although we hardly get the opportunity in Minnesota to play golf other than the 4months of decent weather, it may be worth it to check out one of these great spots to hit the links this year!
