This Minnesota Band Is Marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of the most famous parades around, and a Minnesota High School marching band is set to represent our state in Thursday's parade!
According to this WCCO-TV story, the Rosemount High School Marching Band was notified in April of 2016 that they’d been selected to appear in the prestigious parade this year. And, yeah, it's a big deal to be appear in the parade. Heck, even the announcement was a big deal. (So big that Gov. Mark Dayton was in attendance!)
It’s just the latest honor for the Rosemount band, however. The story noted that the group has also appeared in Tournament of Roses Parade, WE Day and the World Series.
The band left the now-somewhat-frozen Land of 10,000 Lakes on Saturday for the Big Apple on a chartered Sun Country Airlines flight, this TwinCities.com story said. And when they step off Thursday morning, a LOT of people who'll get to see them as they march.
