Our Minnesota sky should be even more beautiful than usual tonight. That's because the "best meteor shower of the year" is set to peak this evening!

According to Thrillist, the Perseid meteor shower can feature more than 100 meteors per hour, putting on quite the show. Even cooler, the shower is also known to produce fireballs, so it's basically like your average metal concert in the sky.

So when should you start looking to the skies? Experts say that the meteors should start being visible as early as 9-10PM, but the best time is roughly between 2AM and dawn. To see as many as possible, you'll want to get away from the bright lights of Rochester and head towards darker skies. Keep in mind that it usually takes about 30 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the darkness, so plan accordingly.

But if you'd like to watch them from the comfort of your own home, that's doable as well! You can watch a live stream on NASA's Meteor Watch Facebook page here.

Good luck!
