Special Weather Statement Issued For SE MN

Strong thunderstorms look to be moving through the area Thursday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Fillmore County and most of the 103.1 KFIL listening area will see a line of strong thunderstorms that could produce small hail, lightning, and heavy downpours.

The areas affected include Preston, St. Charles, Plainview, Chatfield, Stewartville, Spring Valley, Eyota and more.

Winds will be blowing in excess of 30 mph, the storms should hit between 12 pm and 4 pm. Below is the radar screen from the NWS's Twitter account posted just before Noon.

Other counties issued in the statement are Olmsted, Dodge, Winona and Mower, as well as Howard, Mitchell and Buffalo.
