Southeast Minnesota Schools Team Up To #BeTheLightMN
The movement started in Colorado, and MSHSL's John Millea wanted to help spread that movement into Minnesota via Twitter. The schools were to join in by turning on their stadium lights during select evening hours as a way to honor their students, staff and community members in this time of distance learning while school buildings are closed due to COVID-19 concerns.
He did just that.
Several schools have joined in on the movement and Millea has compiled the complete list on the MSHSL's Facebook Page:
Some Southeast Minnesota schools that have joined the movement include:
Blooming Prairie
Faribault
Fillmore Central
Grand Meadow
Hayfield
Kasson-Mantorville
Lanesboro
LeRoy-Ostrander
Lewiston-Altura
Mabel-Canton
Medford
NRHEG
Owatonna
Pine Island

Even Minnesota State University, Mankato joined in the movement. We may have missed some schools in the area, and please let us know if you do so we can add you to the list.
This is just one more event that shows how great our communities are, and how they plan on coming together in a time of need. Great work, Minnesota.
If you have photos, please share with us and let us know who to credit the photo too. We would love to compile all of the photos into one spot so listeners from across Southeast Minnesota.
