Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man who was seriously burned in a traffic wreck last week remains hospitalized but is showing more signs of improvement.

The wreck happened Sept. 17th at a rural intersection two miles west of the Rochester airport.

The State Patrol says 32-year-old Daniel Kropp was driving on Highway 30 when his vehicle was hit broadside by a car driven by 26-year-old Melissa Debus of Stewartville. The State Patrol report on the crash indicates she failed to stop at the intersection.

Kropp is being treated at Regions Hospital in St. Paul where he was initially listed in critical condition. Family and friends say he is now able to walk and talk and is undergoing skin grafts. He is expected to continue receiving treatment for several weeks.

Kropp recently retired from the Minnesota National Guard after serving 13 years and had been hoping to become a state trooper.

His family has set up a GoFundMe site to help pay his expenses.
