Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The defendant in a double-homicide case in Rochester today entered not guilty pleas to first-degree murder charges. The pleas were entered by 54-year-old Glen Johnson after he was brought to an Olmsted County courtroom for a scheduled omnibus hearing and then waived his right to the evidentiary hearing.

The next step in the case will be the scheduling of pre-trial hearings and a trial date for Johnson, who faces two counts of first-degree murder for the stabbing deaths of 57-year-old Phillip Hicks and 45-year-old Eric Flemming. Both men were neighbors of Johnson at the Salvation Army’s Castleview Apartments in downtown Rochester and were allegedly stabbed to death by Johnson the night of March 17th.

The criminal proceedings against Johnson were put on hold earlier this year after he was found to be incompetent to stand trial, but a judge conducted another review of his psychological status in August and allowed the case to move forward.
