Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester police officer was bitten by a dog Thursday while responding to a reported domestic incident.

Officers were sent to check the reported incident in the 1300 block of 30th St NW around 3:45 PM.

A woman took her time answering the door and at about the same time, a man ran out a rear door. A pit bull also ran out the door and charged the officer, biting him on the forearm. The bite barely broke the skin.

It was decided to put the dog into quarantine at the home for 10 days. It’s possible its owner will face a violation of the city’s dangerous dog ordinance.
