Rochester City Council Appears Ready to Hire Next City Attorney
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester City Council is expected to vote Monday to remove the term interim from the title currently held by Michael Spindler-Krage.
The longtime employee of the Rochester City Attorney's Office was named the interim City Attorney in early May after former City Attorney Jason Loos announced his resignation. Loos had held the position at just over three years after he was hired to succeed Terry Adkins, who was the city attorney for more than 26 years.
The City Council agenda notes the city recently went through a nationwide recruitment process and few qualified individuals applied for the City Attorney position. Spindler-Krage was among the candidates and it was recommended that he be officially hired as Loos' successor.
If approved, the interim portion of his title will be officially removed on October 21.
