Minnesota Creamery’s Annual Cheese Curd Festival is On for 2021
A Minnesota creamery called Redhead Creamery up in Brooten, Minnesota hosts a cheese curd festival each year called Curd Fest. Of course, like with most things, Curd Fest was canceled last year, but it's back for 2021! And it's coming up in just a couple of weeks.
I didn't know where Brooten was located so I had to look it up. It's west of St. Cloud sort of in-between Willmar and Sauk Centre. So it's a little bit of a hike from southeast Minnesota but it sounds like a fun event, especially if you're a big cheese fan like me!
Curd Fest takes place on Saturday, June 19th this year, so it's coming up in about 2 and a half weeks. The event will be from 11 AM to 6 PM. On their website, they say that the event will be mostly back to normal with plenty of space to socially distance.
Here are a few highlights that they'll have at the cheese curd festival:
And of course... Cheese!
In order to get into Curd Fest, you do need to purchase a ticket. Tickets are $12 per person if you pre-order online. Or you can purchase them at the door for $15 per person. There's also a VIP ticket you could buy! If you get a VIP pass you'll get early entry with coffee and donuts, a t-shirt, a 2021 Curd Fest mug, cheese curds, a farm tour ticket (so you can tour the farm at Redhead Creamery), cheese stickers, and VIP seating at the festival. That's a lot of extra perks, but it also costs a lot more. Those VIP tickets will cost you $90 per person and you have to buy them in advance online. Last I saw there are only 7 VIP tickets left so if you're interested get them now.
