Sheriff Kurt Freitag said Wednesday morning the warning is effective immediately due to dry vegetation and expected high winds throughout the region Wednesday afternoon. Recreation fires are still allowed under a Red Flag Warning.

Freitag says the fires cannot be larger than 3 feet by 3 feet and must be surrounded by a metal ring. Recreation fires within 25 feet from combustible material are prohibited and all other burning activities are not allowed during the warning.
