Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester experienced record heat on Sunday.

The National Weather Service says the official temperature at the city airport climbed to 89 degrees around 2:00 PM. The previous record high was 88.

It was also warm Saturday with a high of 89 after Friday maxed out at 91 degrees. Those were not records. But the city did set two other records Friday and Saturday with the warmest low temperatures. The low Friday was 71 breaking the previous record of 68. Saturday’s low of 68 broke the previous record of 66.

It will turn much cooler this week but the short-range forecast does not call for any freezing temperatures through the first week of October.
