It was a perfect day to be at the ballpark as the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs topped the Fillmore Central/Lanesboro Falcons in Three Rivers Conference action Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs stayed aggressive on the basepaths and had some clutch hitting to get the 12-3 win over the Falcons on Cool 104.

The Falcons scored the first run of the game to take a 1-0 lead, but PEM tied it in the second and then scored two runs in the 3rd, three runs in the fourth and two more in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings to get the win.

The Bulldogs were led by their catcher, Delaney Newcomb who was brilliant at the plate going 2-for-4 with two, two-RBI singles to help extend the lead.

Kelsey Biel hit a solo home run for the Falcons in the 4th to make it 6-2, but the Bulldogs were able to tack on a few more runs throughout the game by advancing on the bases. The Bulldogs as a team had six stolen bases and took extra bases at every opportunity possible. They put a lot of pressure on the Falcons, but the FC/L and pitcher Krista Jorgenson were able to keep the Bulldogs at bay for a couple of innings.

Jorgenson took the loss for FC/L while Kaylee Peter got the win for PEM, while Katlyn Sylvester added a solo home run for the Bulldogs.

The win pushed the Bulldogs to 5-2 on the season while FC/L fell to 0-4.
