The Chatfield Gophers found success in the first half, but the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs were able to come storming back at the start of the second half, en route to a 56-55 win.

The Bulldogs trailed 32-25 at the break, and they came flying out of the gate in the second half to take a 35-34 lead. The Gophers were able to answer the run and retake the lead with 11:11 to go, 43-41. Chatfield and P-E-M would trade baskets back and forth but toward the end of the half, Mikalya Rahman was able to get free under the basket for a couple of crucial buckets to get the Bulldogs the win.

Chatfield jumped out to an early 7-1 lead, and lead for the entire first half. The Gophers did a great job of attacking the basket and controlling the pace of the game. They took care of the basketball and got great production from Macy Pederson and Belle Berg. Pederson finished with 10 points and Berg 11.

The Gophers were able to control the paint and forced the Bulldogs to take a lot of jump shots, but Taylor Nelson was able to answer the call. The Bulldogs struggled from the field in the first half, but Nelson was able to keep them in the game by knocking down three 3s in the first half.

Nelson finished with 13, while Rahman had 15.

With the score tied at 51, Chatfield took a 52-51 lead after a free throw. From there, P-E-M went on a 5-1 run to take a 56-53 lead. Pederson hit a layup with 3.8 seconds left for Chatfield to cut it to 56-55. The Gophers fouled right away and the Bulldogs missed the free throw. Chatfield had a chance to fire a half-court shot at the buzzer but it didn't fall.
