It's almost the law that you have to fire up the grill at least once over the Memorial Day Weekend in Minnesota, right? Here are the 'official' rules you should follow when grilling out.

The Memorial Day Weekend is a time for us to reflect and remember those who've given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It's also the unofficial kick-off to the summer season. And what's more a part of summer here in Minnesota than firing up the grill?

So, here are some 'rules' to follow if you're grilling out this weekend. (And, yes, this is meant to be humorous. Not that they ARE, mind you...) Now, I didn't write these, my old radio buddy, Ryan, posted these on his Facebook page a few years ago, but I'm not sure where he got them. Take a look, though, and see if these look even a little bit familiar to you:

RULES FOR GRILLING IN MINNESOTA

(1) The woman buys the food.

(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.

(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:

(4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

(5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates, knives, forks and spoons.

(6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat now appears to be on fire. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat

Important again:

(7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

(8) The woman prepares the, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.

(9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:

(11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

(12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed her ‘night off,' and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes 'there's just no pleasing some women.'
