Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester missed two winter storms in the past week - will it escape a third one?

Weather forecasters are watching an approaching storm they think will begin affecting Minnesota sometime Monday.

As of Sunday morning, the National Weather Service was forecasting mixed precipitation for the Rochester area Monday that will become all snow Monday evening.

It’s possible 3-6 inches could fall by the time the storm moves out of the region Tuesday.

And it will also be cold this week with temperatures that will be well below normal. High temps will struggle to get above freezing Wednesday - Sunday.  But - AccuWeather is calling for warmer weather next week with 50s possible by Friday the 13th.

The storm that hit Minnesota Friday and Saturday dumped snow across much of northern Minnesota with several inches in many areas.  Up to a foot was reported in the Sandstone area. The Twin Cities Metro received 2-5 inches.
