Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – A new payment system will begin Monday at the Third Street Ramp in downtown Rochester.

According to a press release from the City of Rochester, a new payment system is ready to go live on Monday, July 22nd. The function of the new system aligns with the system in place at other municipal ramps.

Pricing will also match other municipal ramps, which includes parking for an hour or less is free, while other prices brands match other ramps with a maximum $16 daily rate.

With the new system and pricing in place, the 3-hour time limits previously in place at Third Street are now eliminated. Parkers will notice new gate arms at the entrance and exit as well.

Payment should be made at payment kiosks located in the ramp lobbies, and payment can also be made with a credit card at the gate as you exit. Those who have a monthly contract will now present their pass at the street-level gate as well as the nest to access parking. New signage will advise parkers of the new payment methods.

Parking validation for local businesses is available in Third Street Ramp by contacting Lanier Parking.
