Minneapolis (KROC AM News) - A new survey of likely Minnesota voters shows Joe Biden leading President Donald Trump by just five points, the closest the race has been in the state in recent polls.

The MinnPost survey was conducted Oct 12th - 15th and found Biden favored over Trump by a margin of 49% - 44%. The survey involved 1,021 likely voters and had a margin of error of 3.1%. 

A KSTP/SurveyUSA poll released two weeks ago found Biden leading Trump 47% to 40%

The MinnPost poll also shows a tight race between US Senator Tina Smith and her Republican challenger Jason Lewis. It gave Smith a lead of just 4 points over Lewis, 48% - 44%.
