MN Wild Debut Retro Jerseys With North Stars Theme
The Minnesota Wild have unveiled their latest jersey. It's a throwback retro jersey with colors of the original Minnesota National Hockey League team the "North Stars." The reverse retro jersey is based on the colors and style of the 1978 North Stars.
You can order the jerseys now for yourself online. Blank jerseys won't be in or shipped to stores until December 1. The jerseys are made by Adidas and feature the Wild logo with colors green, white, and gold. The shadowed numbers add a nice touch as well. You have a choice of players names that can be added to the jerseys. Those players are Matt Dumba #24, Kevin Fiala #22, Kirill Kaprizov #97, Zach Parise #11, Jared Spurgeon #46, Cam Talbot #33. The base price for fans to get a Jersey is $180. Customizing the jerseys bring additional costs.
According to Kare11, Adidas has made retro jerseys for the 31 teams in the league. It's also the first time the league has embraced an alternative jersey for the NHL. This is the 20th season for the Minnesota Wild, and it's a nice tip of the hat to the team that many fans still remember. The North Stars played in Minnesota from 1967-1992 and appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals twice, but never were able to get the win. In 1993 the team moved to Dallas, Texas and became known as the "Dallas Stars."
