Minnesotans Ready to Travel this Summer

A good friend makes a trip to a new state park whenever he gets the chance. A coworker sprinted up to the North Shore this weekend to get in some skiing before all the snow melts. I enjoy venturing to a new area to go for a scenic run. Case-in-point the Zumbro Endurance Run this weekend.

Minnesotans are ready to travel for a summer vacation this year, according to a AAA survey. Indications are that people in the state are feeling safety measures are in place, fear about the virus is down, and vaccination numbers are on the rise.

In a news release from AAA, their survey finds that "nearly half of Minnesotans (49%) are comfortable taking a trip. That's almost a 10 percentage-point increase compared to our previous survey in January."

Meredith Mitts, spokeswoman for AAA - The Auto Club Group, states, "After a full year in a global pandemic, there is so much pent-up demand for travel that our AAA travel agents are seeing tremendous enthusiasm from Minnesotans who are eager to plan a trip. While many want to wait until the summer, some have already received their vaccine and are motivated to travel now."
