They're always on the frontlines, trying to keep us healthy but a new survey says today that Minnesota is one of the best states in the country for doctors.

The crew over at WalletHub has just looked at 19 different categories that affect doctors from state to state, and found out that things are pretty good here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Their new survey included many different measurements, from average annual wage of physicians to hospitals per capita to quality of public hospital system, just to name a few.

And, yeah, Minnesota came in as the number-five state overall. (And actually, given, of course, that the world-famous Mayo Clinic-- the number-one hospital in the country-- is here in our own backyard in Minnesota, I'm a little surprised we weren't rated a higher on this list.)

So, if Minnesota isn't the number-one state for doctors, which state is? Well, according to WalletHub, that'd be... Montana? They came first on the WalletHub list, followed by my home state of Wisconsin at number-two. Idaho and North Dakota rounded out the number three and four spots on the list.

The worst states to be a doctor? Looks like that'd be New York?!? I'm not exactly sure why the Empire state rated last, except according to WalletHub, the cost of malpractice insurance there is the highest in the country.
