Minnesota COVID Deaths Top 6K – ICU Usage Drops Below 100
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota has passed another grim milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Minnesota Department of Health today reported another 32 coronavirus related deaths throughout the state that pushed the overall number of COVID deaths in the state since the beginning of the pandemic above 6000. The deaths reported today included residents of Houston and Winona Counties.
The state's daily update on the pandemic lists 1292 new cases statewide, including 72 new infections identified in Olmsted County. The testing total from yesterday was about 35,600 and the daily testing positivity rate fell to around 3.6 percent.
Statistics posted by the state show the overall number of Minnesotans hospitalized due to COVID-19 has dropped to 558 with 98 patients in intensive care. It is the first time since September 21 the ICU bed usage total has been below 100.
