I was surfing my Facebook newsfeed yesterday afternoon when I came to a post that was tagged with a high school friend. The post came from my friend Joe's wife, about how the couple is being tormented by a group of people online for wanting to adopt a child. Honestly, I got a huge pit in my stomach when I read the post and message attached, how low can people get.

The post from Joe's wife Amanda states:

"We understand that our journey isn't for everyone. And that's OK! We know that there are people who have very strong feelings against adoption. We've been the target of some very hateful anti-adoption Facebook pages, had our page shared with awful, AWFUL things said about us, been sent messages that were honestly a bit scary. We know that judgemental comments have been made behind our back by people we know in real life.
But for crying out loud, if you can't say anything nice, keep your mouth shut! ‍♀️
Consider this your daily reminder to #BeKind ."
Some of the comments that have been offered up include things like "coveting others children", "have your own kids".
In addition to it really not being anyone's business, it's pretty insensitive to boot. I just don't get what drives the keyboard cowboys to say such awful things. There's a saying about people throwing stones at houses made of glass. Let's just let people live their own lives and watch their own bobbers.
