Believe it or not, it’s eventually going to stop snowing and Minnesota will be consistently warm and green all over. I’m…pretty sure it will. It’s been a long winter, so I think it’s safe to say that a lot of Minnesotans are itching to get outdoors. And if you’re a super outdoorsy type, you can unleash your inner Paul Bunyan and volunteer with the Minnesota DNR this spring. They just put out a list of volunteering opportunities in Southern Minnesota, and a few of them look pretty cool:

Woodpecker Surveys

Planting Trees

Campground Host at a MN State Park

Get Physical on a State Natural Area

Be a Master Naturalist

Lake Level Minnesota

Volunteer Safety Instructors – Firearms, Bows, ATV, Snowmobile

Volunteer Loon Watcher Survey

I’d say the big hook is getting to be outside while helping keep our state looking awesome. If you’re interested, check out the DNR volunteering page here.
