Are you one of the millions of adults who have joined the adult coloring craze?  The adult coloring book phenomena started years back in the U.K. and is now sweeping America.  What's the fascination with coloring?  Well, speaking for myself, I love the finished product.  The pictures brighten up my wall at work and my fridge at home.  I remember what it was like as a kid getting a new box of Crayolas - nothing like opening the lid on a box of 64 colors!  I have no artistic ability; can't draw a straight line with a ruler but adult coloring books make me feel like Rembrandt!   The biggest reason I color?  It's relaxing and helps me to de-stress.  Scientific research has shown that coloring or any type of artistic hobby, can actually help the brain rejuvenate.

Are you ready to jump into the coloring pool?  Local stores are stocked with everything you need.  Michael's on 25th Street Southeast has a huge collection of adult coloring books, everything from flowers to steam punk; gel writers and water colors.  Hobby Lobby on Highway 52 has Crayola metallics, a box of 48 pastels, and themed books with birds, butterflies or paisleys.  Fun and funky coloring books can be found on Wal-Mart shelves, Crayolas, gelwriters and even a collection of 36 Pentel finepoints. Check this out - Barnes and Nobel Book Store at Apache Mall has a "dirty word" coloring book!  If you want to feel like you're learning something while you color, B&N has an anatomy coloring book, too.  Even Sunshine Foods in Chatfield has adult coloring books mixed in with their magazine display!  So what are you waiting for?  Join the fun and get coloring!  Do a little research and you might even find a coloring club in your neighborhood; they're becoming as popular as quilting clubs!
