Starting June 1st, LeRoy City Lines added a 5:25 a.m. departure in LeRoy and a 4:12 p.m. departure in downtown Rochester, to go along with a later route that already exist. It departs at 6:25 a.m. in LeRoy and departs from Rochester at 5:12 p.m.

When the company launch their first route on December 1st, demand grew.

"After we purchased our first bus last fall and launched the original route on December 1, demand grew for an earlier route," said Axel Gumbel who is a member of the LeRoy economic Development Authority (EDA). "We decided to purchase a second bus to see if we can permanently sustain two daily routes to and from Rochester."

The City of LeRoy purchased the first 32-passenger bus last fall, and then added a 22-passenger, wheelchair accessible bus in May.

"Operating smaller buses and without the pressure of meeting a high profit margin makes it much easier for us to operate this service," Gumbel said. "We are marketing our bus service to the entire region, hoping to do our part in helping this rural area stay relevant. Having public transportation available is key in that effort."

Fares include $10 one-way, $86 for a 10-ride pass and $219 for a month. LeRoy City Lines does include a Mayo Employees discount and those fares can be found HERE.
