Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The City of Rochester is asking for the public’s help with a rather easy task.

The Public Works Department has created an online form for reporting potholes as the common, but bone jarring, feature of the spring thaw make their annual appearance. Citizens also have the option of calling the city during regular hours at 507-328-2450 to report holes in the pavement on city roadways that need repair.

While city crews have been busy finding and filling potholes, officials note they are not able to drive all 500 miles of city streets daily to locate all of them.

The Public Works Department requests anyone filing a report to provide some specific information.

  • The location of the pothole, please be as descriptive as possible including the nearest cross street or which side of the road the pothole is located on.
  • The approximate size of the pothole.

If the pothole is outside the city, it should be reported to the Olmsted County Public Works Department at 507-328-7060.

Officials also remind everyone to slow down and provide extra space when they encounter crews patching potholes.
