Jill Biden Making Campaign Stop in Rochester This Week
The countdown to the 2020 election is nearing the home stretch, and the Biden/Harris campaign is making a stop in Rochester this week.
The Land of 10,000 Lakes has been in the national political spotlight a LOT this year, as candidates from both parties have visited here in hopes of winning over Minnesota voters. President Trump famously visited the Bold North the day after the first presidential debate-- while he might have been infected with the coronavirus. It was his seventh visit to Minnesota since taking office in January of 2017.
Meanwhile, the Biden/Harris campaign has been in Minnesota several times as well. Former Vice President Biden made a stop in Duluth (the same day President Trump was visiting Bemidji) back in August, and his wife, Jill, last campaigned in Minnesota on Saturday, October 3rd.
And now, she's set to return to Minnesota on Thursday, October 15th, and has included Rochester on her list of campaign stops. According to this KARE-11 story, both Dr. Jill Biden (who's married, of course, to Joe Biden) and Doug Emhoff (who's married to Kamala Harris) will appear in the Twin Cities and then also at a campaign stop here in Rochester. Even though the visit is only around 24 hours away, the campaign hasn't announced the venue or time of the visit to the Med City yet, though. We'll update this story as we get more information.
Of course, the Biden campaign is only the latest in high-profile politicians to make a stop here in Rochester. Profiles don't get much higher than the President of the United States, so keep scrolling to take a look back to a little over two years ago when President Trump made a stop here in the Med City, stumping for Republican candidates in the 2018 mid-term election.
