Despite not being prepared for a fire, Zezza chose to fight the blaze himself, using every available fire extinguisher instead of running away or simply calling for help.

Zezza's quick movements have people in awe of his heroism, and it's become a national story covered by People magazine, all because, instead of turning the other way, Zezza prevented anyone staying at the hotel from injury.

Fishing Trip Turns Into a Hero Story in Wisconsin
Zezza used a door as a heat shield while pulling the fire alarm, then fought the flames outside near a KwikTrip. His spur-of-the-moment thinking may have meant the difference between containing the fire and letting it spread.
Zezza went to Superior hoping to fish, but instead put out a fire and became a hero.
For Zezza, this story turned out to be even better than any fishing tale.
