Illinois and Iowa Weather is Under Threat for Tornadoes on Tuesday
More large storms are possible on Tuesday and early Wednesday morning with a threat of tornadoes for parts of the Midwest.
According to the latest weather forecast for the Rockford region, showers will start overnight with scattered thunderstorms expected on Tuesday morning.
Some weather forecast models predict strong winds, hail, and a potential for a tornado on Tuesday afternoon, with the highest threat being in eastern Iowa and the northwestern corner of Illinois.
The current forecast for Rockford from the Weather Channel has an 85 percent chance of thunderstorms after 7 pm on Tuesday with the potential for heavy rainfall.
Wednesday morning there's a slight chance of thunderstorms before 10 am, then showers possible through midday until skies clear up in the evening.

The National Weather Service has a 40 percent of showers and thunderstorms on Independence Day with a high in the lower 80s and a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms after 7 pm on July 4, so some fireworks could be washed out.
