When I was growing up, our house was a no shoes in the home type of residence. As soon as you walked in the door, you took off any footwear and put them in the basket by the door. I spent a lot of time in our family room in the basement and the floor was always cold, so I usually wore slippers. Now, at my own home we do the same thing. We used to have hardwood floors, so I would wear sandals. Honestly, I prefer to be barefoot.
