How would you like the opportunity to ride your bike on one of the most famous and busiest roads in the entire state of Illinois?

Experience Lake Shore Drive In Chicago With No Cars Or Traffic

I used to love riding my bike as a kid. It took me everywhere until I turned sixteen and got my license. That's when I retired from that activity. I guess back in those days I was fearless, because I was never afraid to take my bicycle anywhere. Now, I see riders on the streets of Chicago, and I think to myself, never in a million years. There is a really cool opportunity for bicyclists to enjoy one of the scenic roads in Illinois.

The 25th annual Bike The Drive event is happening on Sunday, September 6th, kicking off at 6:30am. On this day, Chicago will be closing Lake Shore Drive to traffic, and only bikes are allowed. This is so cool because the view is amazing, and this route is usually packed with vehicles. There will be thirty miles of open road for bicyclists to enjoy.

If you ignore the traffic, the winding street along Lake Michigan is fun to drive. I can't even imagine how cool riding a bike down it would be. It's a great event for the whole family. You can be a beginner, professional, or anything in between to enjoy the day. If you don't own a bicycle or a way to bring it to the city, they also have them for rent.
