Every once in a while, a recall hits, and you’re like, “I’m pretty sure I’ve had that in my house at one time or another.”

That just happened to me when I saw the news that a popular cheese bread sold in Illinois has been recalled due to a salmonella risk.

Check Your Freezers: Motor City Pizza Co. Cheese Bread Recalled

Have you tried the Motor City Pizza Co. line of frozen foods? IF so, check your freezers because they just recalled the cheese bread from Motor City Pizza Co.

Typically found at Walmart, Costco, Target, Meijer, and Schnucks in the Rockford area, the recall involves a milk powder ingredient that may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Walmart, Costco, and Meijer Impacted: The Root Cause of the Recall

California Dairies initially issued its own recall on the milk powder, and thankfully, no illnesses have been reported thus far.

Routine testing on the products has also come back negative, but the company is still recalling the frozen bread out of caution.

How to Identify Affected Batches and Who to Contact for Refunds

Salmonella can ruin your day, and it can lead to more serious complications in kids and older adults, especially those with weakened immune systems.

In case you’re wondering, both single and two-pack versions are affected by the recall. If you have this product at home, be sure to check the product UPC codes and sell-by dates from February 2027 through April 2027 to confirm the correct item is being recalled.
