According to a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, about 2,800 cases of crème brûlée desserts are affected.  The recalled was issued by Lactalis.  These dessert were sold under Aldi's "Specially Selected" brand and are typically found in the refrigerated section.

The reason behind the recall?  Some may contain foreign objects, specifically glass fragments.  While no widespread injuries have been reported, anything involving potential glass in food is taken very seriously.

These are the impacted items:

The recalled desserts were sold in Illinois, along with six other states: Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, and Virginia.

If you have one of the affected desserts at home, it's best to avoid eating it and either throw it away or return it to the store for a refund.  Even a small risk involving glass isn't worth it.  If you've bought any desserts at Aldi over the last couple weeks, make sure to check your freezer or fridge!
