Delicious Scandinavian Cafe is Hidden in this Minnesota Grocery Store
There are many Scandinavians who live in Minnesota. So if you want to tap into those Scandinavian roots, there's an inconspicuous cafe and bakery hidden inside a Minnesota grocery store!
I'm Scandinavian, I know, SUPER surprising. So I'd like to check this place out sometime. Their food looks delicious.
It's called Taste of Scandinavia. They have a carry-out counter where you can just grab some baked goods but they also have a full menu for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Of course, there are Scandinavian-inspired foods on the menu but there are also some of your classic breakfast foods.
Some of the Scandinavian-inspired foods you can get include a bacon avocado lefse wrap
lingonberry lemon pancakes
Swedish meatballs
and, from now through December 31st you can get a traditional lutefisk dinner.
The hidden Taste of Scandinavia can be found inside the Festival Foods grocery store in Bloomington.
Taste of Scandinavia also has two other locations in the cities. One is in North Oaks and the other is in Little Canada. Those aren't inside a grocery store so you should be able to find them pretty easily.
Would you be brave enough to try their lutefisk dinner? I have lutefisk every Christmas and that's plenty for me so I'd pass on that. Their different lefse concoctions intrigue me though.
On top of the bacon avocado lefse wrap they also have a Sweet Scandinavian Lefse which is "a warm Lefse filled with lingonberry cream cheese, cinnamon sugar, caramelized apples, bananas and strawberries." They also have a Norwegian Chicken Lefse Melt which is like a chicken melt sandwich but in lefse.
