Minnesota and Wisconsin Rivers Named Best Places for Tubing in the US
One of the funnest things to do on a hot summer day is to tube down a river with some friends. You just get to relax, enjoy the cool water, and maybe have some beverages if that's your jam.
We've got plenty of places to go tubing around Minnesota, but there was only one Minnesota river that was just named one of the best spots to go tubing.
Also, bonus, there's one Wisconsin river that made the list too!

Most, if not all, of the places that offer river tubing have really good prices, have a shuttle, and also have special tubes to rent so you have your cooler with you as you float.
Tubing is fun for any reason: to go out with your family, your birthday, just to spend time with your friends, or your bachelorette party, like I did!

The Best River Tubing in Wisconsin
Let's start with the Wisconsin spot that was named one of the best tubing spots in the US.
This list, by the way, was put together by USA Today's 10 Best. Experts put out a short list of what they determined to be some of the best tubing spots in the country (this was based on reviews, maybe personal experience, etc.)
From there, people got to vote for the top 10.
Coming in as the 6th best place to tube in the US is the Apple River in Somerset, Wisconsin!
You can rent tubes from River's Edge Apple River Campground, which has been doing this since the early '60s. It costs $20 per person/per tube, if you want string to tie everyone together (which you definitely want), that's another $1 for three 10 ft. ties, and parking costs $5.
They say that the float down the river takes 2.5-3.5 hours.
The Best River Tubing in Minnesota
As for the Minnesota river that made the list, that would be the Root River in Lanesboro, coming in as the 8th best spot for tubing in the US!
You can rent tubes through Root River Outfitters. It costs $20 per person/per tube, and if you need a tube for your cooler, that's $15 per tube. I don't see anything about them charging for string to tie everyone together, so I'd imagine that's included in the cost.
The float down the Root River lasts around 2.5-3 hours.
Tubing should definitely be on your bucket list for this summer. Here are some other things that you should add, too!
