Popular Team In Minnesota Just Canceled Home Opener
Sad news, Minnesota. Because Mother Nature decided to finally show up and give us a little bit of winter, a favorite team in Minnesota just canceled its home opener game for Friday.
Popular Team in Minnesota Just Canceled Home Opener
A sign of summer showed up throughout the U.S. on Thursday in the form of baseball. The Minnesota Twins won against the Kansas City Royals, 4 to 1, so I'd say it was a good day. Unfortunately, that adrenaline high from the win was slammed after I read some sad news from one of Minnesota's other favorite teams to watch at a ballpark.
According to the St. Paul Saints website, Mother Nature is wrecking plans for a second year.
"Make that Mother Nature 2, St. Paul Saints Home Opener’s 0. For the second consecutive season snow is the reason the Saints won’t play their home opener. Despite extensive work by the Saints grounds crew over the last 48 hours, the roughly foot and a half of snow that fell on CHS Field from March 24-26 has made the field unplayable for the March 29 home opener."
The St. Paul Saints have canceled the home opener for Friday, March 29th, 2024 but are planning to see fans on Saturday.
"The Saints grounds crew will spend the next 48 hours prepping the field for the new home opener planned for Saturday, March 30 at 2:07 p.m. against the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland Guardians)."
