Ultimate Guide to SPARK'S Play It Forward Annual Fundraiser in Rochester, Minnesota

The fun, circus-themed fundraiser for SPARK is one you won't want to miss!  Plus, it helps a vital program in Rochester called Play For All.

The money we raise during Play It Forward supports a SPARK program called Play For All. This program helps cover free or reduced admissions for families who face financial barriers as well as supplies and props for our museum. With intentional outreach, coordinated programming, and many community partnerships, the Play For All program has grown by leaps and bounds. Play For All programming has increased by 1800% since we opened in 2020.

WHEN:

• Thursday, August 8th, 2024

TIME: 

• The event begins at 5:30 PM. You will check-in outside of SPARK under our white tent. Upon check-in, you will receive your wristband and details on the carnival games, food, and more. In the event, of rain, check-in will be under the big top.

WHERE: 

• SPARK’s Play It Forward event will be held inside AND outside at SPARK, located on the south side of Apache Mall, 1201 12th Street SW, Rochester. You will see the “big top” tent when you arrive.

WHAT TO WEAR: 

• The dress code is cocktail-casual, and you are encouraged to support the theme colors of black, red, and/or white.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Entertainment for the evening will consist of music, a photo booth, a host of carnival games with amazing prizes, FREE food, and beverages for purchase.
• Tickets for games will be available for purchase and there are many winners, even the biggest loser will be a winner! Prizes range from $5 - $500, donated by generous local businesses in our community.
• Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at $20 a ticket and 1,000 tickets will be sold! Drawing will take place for the following prizes at 8:40 pm (you do not need to be present to win).

  • John Hardy Silver Bracelet - $650
  • Solo Stove 2.0 Fire Pit Bundle - $600
  • Wabasha Weekend Get-Away - $500

FOOD & BEVERAGE: 

• Delicious carnival-themed appetizers and entrées from Bleu Duck Truck, Compadres, Infuzn Foods, and Flapdoodles. Of course, a carnival isn’t complete without popcorn from Carroll’s Corn!  Charlie’s Pub and Eatery will serve drinks (including NA), wine, and beer at the cash bar.
