
Candy Lovers, Take Note: New Sweet Shop Now Open at Apache Mall in Rochester
If you love candy, it seems like another spots for some sugary treats is fully stocked and open for business in Rochester, Minnesota.
I normally get invites to grand openings but seem to have been missed on the list for a candy shop that is now open in the Med City. And no, this is not the new candy shop, Fuzziwigs, that I wrote about on January 30th, 2026 that opened inside of the Scheels. The spot with lots of sugar is in the food court area at the Apache Mall.
Below are a few fun details I learned and photos that I took when I stopped in over the weekend.

Where Did Northwoods Candy Emporium Go In The Apache Mall?
Back in August, complaints started to appear online about low stock and empty shelves at the candy store known as Northwoods Candy Emporium in the Apache Mall. At the end of December 2025, it appeared that the location was closed.
If you were hoping to grab some Easter candy at Northwoods Candy Emporium, there is now another candy store in the food court area that has a variety of items that might work for those fun baskets this year.

Midwest Candy Co. Now Open In The Apache Mall in Rochester, MN
Just a few short weeks after I shared a few photos of the new Fuzziwig's inside of Scheels, a spot full of fudge, chocolate, ice cream, and other sugary goodness opened in Rochester.
Midwest Candy Co. had their grand opening at the end of February 2026 near China Experience in the food court area. When you walk in, you are immediately surrounded by a variety of sweets. Here are a few photos I took when I stopped in on Sunday.
