One Of The Largest Waterparks In The Midwest Opens In June
Illinois' largest waterpark is set to reopen in June of 2023.
How Big Is It?
This water park is not only the largest in the state of Illinois but also one of the largest in the entire Midwest. With its 16th year of operation fast approaching, Raging Waves Waterpark is the perfect destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. The park boasts a massive 58-acre area, filled with 32 different water slides, 43 private cabanas, and an impressive selection of 11 dining options to choose from.
What Are Some Of The Attractions?
The park also offers a variety of attractions that are perfect for all ages, including a 1/4-mile lazy river and a massive 350,000-gallon wave pool that's sure to keep you entertained for hours on end.
The Aussie Mat Dash is a little more extreme. This six-lane RallyRACER is one of only three of its kind in the world, providing an adrenaline-fueled experience that's sure to get your heart racing.
For the true daredevils out there, make sure to try PJ’s Plummet, another one of Raging Waves' popular attractions. This extreme slide offers riders the chance to hit speeds of up to 43 mph as they plummet toward the ground.
What Is There For Little Kids?
Of course, the little ones aren't left out of the fun either. The Quokka-Nut Island is a popular attraction among the park's younger visitors, with four different slides, interactive water features, and plenty of opportunities for exploration and adventure.
With a scheduled opening on Saturday, June 3rd, Raging Waves Waterpark is the perfect summer destination. Keep in mind that the schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather and unforeseen circumstances, but the full summer schedule and hours of operation can be found on their website.
