Update: Body Found Near Rochester ID'D as Missing Minnesota Man
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office does not believe foul play was involved in the death of a person whose remains were discovered Wednesday afternoon on the east edge of Rochester.
The body was found by a person walking a dog in an area near Silver Creek Road Northeast and the Gordon W. Yeager Management Area east of Quarry Hill Park. The discovery was reported around 1:30 PM on Wednesday.
A statement issued this afternoon by the Sheriff's Office says investigators now believe the body is from a person who was reported missing in March of last year. The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office will be releasing the name of the deceased person after family members are notified.
The Medical Examiner's Office is also working to determine the cause of death and the circumstances also remain under investigation.
