At GreyFace Rescue in St. Joe, Founder Bethie G. has seen a lot over the years. She’s dedicated her heart to helping senior dogs, who are often overlooked, passed by, or forgotten because of their age.

But even for someone who has seen it all, the story of Logan and Juliet hits a little differently.

WE... ARE...FAMILY

Logan and Juliet aren’t just two dogs looking for a home. They’re family! Born in the same litter ten years ago, this brother-and-sister duo has never known life apart. From their first wobbly steps as puppies to the quiet comfort of growing older side-by-side, they’ve shared everything, including meals, toys, naps, and they have always had each other.

HEARTBREAKING CIRCUMSTANCES FOR BOTH HUMANS AND THEIR PETS

But now, through no fault of their own, their world has changed. Their family is going through major life transitions and can no longer care for them. It’s the kind of situation no one plans for, and one that leaves Logan and Juliet in a place they’ve never been before, waiting for a new home. Right now, they’re being boarded at a facility, surrounded by unfamiliar sounds and routines, holding onto the only constant they have left: each other. It's heartbreaking. They don't understand what's happened to their human family, but surely they are worried, and all they have is each other.

THE CHALLENGES OF HOMING A BONDED PAIR

While their bond is beautiful, it also makes their situation more challenging when looking for a forever home. But here’s the thing: Logan and Juliet are everything you could hope for in companions! They have had a steadfast, loving home their entire lives. They’re both potty trained and crate trained. They’ve lived in a home with children and have done wonderfully with people of all ages. They’re friendly with other dogs, especially Juliet, who seems to believe everyone she meets is a new best friend. And despite their age, they still light up at playtime and happily work for a tasty treat or two.

TWO LOVING DOGS- ABOUT LOGAN AND JULIET

Logan is a striking black-and-white gentleman at about 50 pounds. He carries himself with a calm, steady presence. Juliet, his 65-pound white-and-tan sister, is the social butterfly who is quick to greet you with a wagging tail and an open heart. Together, they balance each other perfectly. Because they are older, they've got that puppy energy all worked out of them, so you're getting two happy, human-loving dogs that just want to stay together and find the family that will love them for the rest of their lives. They've lived their entire lives as GOOD dogs, and they deserve the best in their later years.

Because they are a bonded pair, and they’re pitty mixes (whicH are dogs that already face unfair stigmas and seniors on top of that), the odds can feel stacked against them.

WE WANT TO FIND THEIR FOREVER FAMILY

If you have the room and the space for these trained, seasoned, loving, loyal companions who still have so much life left to live and so much love left to give, they need YOU.

START BY FOSTERING LOGAN AND JULIET

What they need now isn’t complicated. They don’t need perfection. They don’t need a forever promise right away. They just need a place to land together.
You can foster first if you want, and in the process, they have a home where they can rest, decompress, and feel safe again. A home where they won’t have to say goodbye to the one thing that has been constant in their entire lives. Once you get the feel for their personalities, you can choose whether or not you want to be their forever family.

After ten years side-by-side, separating Logan and Juliet just isn’t an option anyone wants to imagine. I hope that someone out there will see Logan and Juliet as the sweet gift they truly are.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADOPT OR FOSTER THESE SWEET DOGS?

If you feel that pull on your heart, if you think you might be their lucky break, you can reach out to foster this incredible pair at foster@greyfacerescue.org. If you can’t foster, sharing their story might be the very thing that helps them find the home they’ve been waiting for.

We hope you will share this story with your family and friends.
