A $800K Survival Mega Bunker Delivered to Wisconsin Home

If the unthinkable ever happens, where would you go? If you've got the cash, you could ride out the chaos in style, say, a three-bedroom underground bunker with a price tag of $800,000.

A Mysterious Delivery from Texas

A curious delivery from Texas arrived at a mysterious Wisconsin home recently, bringing all the materials for an enormous bunker valued at more than twice the price of an average home in the state.

Prebuilt in Texas and Transported to Wisconsin

The bunker, from Atlas Survival Shelters based in Sulphur Springs, Texas, was prebuilt at their facility in the Lone Star State and transported to an undisclosed location in Wisconsin for installation.

Bunker Components and Construction

The bunker is built from two connected 12-by-40-foot modular units that look like heavy-duty shipping containers, plus a generator pod, staircase, and even an escape tunnel.

They started by digging a giant hole and pouring concrete foundations. Then, once everything was shipped up from Texas, a massive 165-ton crane came in to piece it all together.

Built for Wisconsin's Harsh Winters

After the modular sections of the bunker, weighing as much as 49,000 pounds each, were positioned and welded together, an insulating foam was applied to help it withstand Wisconsin's harsh winters.

Luxury Underground Living

The bunker comes complete with an air ventilation system, four 300-gallon water tanks, underfloor storage, two toilets, a shower, a laundry room, a full kitchen, a living area, and three bedrooms—everything one needs for the end of the world.

The Final Step: Burying the Bunker

Once the bunker is fully installed with air pipes and other safety amenities, heavy equipment will be brought in to backfill the site and bury the bunker.
