Fans of a classic Dairy Queen treat are getting excited about the possible return of a discontinued favorite.

Dairy Queen, headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota, might be reviving one of their classic dipped cone flavors after discontinuing it in 2023. The ice cream and fast food chain confirmed to People last May that they would be discontinuing their cherry dipped cone flavor.

In a statement they shared with People after rumors surfaced about the flavor being discontinued, the company said “At this time, the Cherry Dipped Cone at Dairy Queen is being discontinued." They did note that their dipped cone flavors are on a rotation and they didn't rule out the idea of bringing back the cherry flavor in the future.

Fast-forward to the spring of 2024 as a lot of seasonal Dairy Queen locations across Minnesota and Wisconsin prepare to open for the season, and we have news that indicates the classic flavor might be making a comeback!

The manager of a Dairy Queen who shared the news of the flavor being discontinued in 2023 shared a video on TikTok that explains that the flavor is making a return in 2024. The manager, whose name is Miranda, says that due to popular demand, the company is bringing back the cherry flavor.

Miranda says in the video that she can't give an exact date for the return of the cherry dip flavor because "it depends on when the distributors get it in stock", but she says it will be making a return.

Miranda said the cherry flavor was one of the top sellers at her store, suggesting that the return of the fruity flavor will likely be welcomed with excitement by fans of the frozen treat.
