Wisconsin City Named The Drunkest In America For 2026
This is definitely not great news but it is what it is. As always, a new list is out and this time around, it is a list of the drunkest cities in the country. This list was crafted by 24/7 Wall Street.
Unfortunately, some states have a reputation for being heavy on the drinking and Wisconsin is one of them. Minnesota also has a reputation for this reason, but not as much as its neighbor.
This new list definitely won't be helping matters much. Most of the top twenty are cities in the Cheesehead State. Minnesota also has a somewhat strong showing here.
Overall, the cities with the highest excessive drinking rates are in the midwest, so maybe it is just a midwest thing. The southern states have the lowest rates, by the way. Let's dive in.

How did this list come together? Before we dive in, it helps to know and understand the methodology. This study looked into a bunch of different factors, including: how many adults drink to excess and driving deaths involving alcohol. That's really sad.

The number of restaurants and bars was also considered here, along with median household income. Now that you know what was considered for this one, let's look at which cities made the list.
Wisconsin City Named The Drunkest In The U.S. This Year
Green Bay, better luck next year! The city has some things to work on: about 27% of the adult population drinks to excess, while half of their driving deaths involve alcohol. That is definitely devastating.

Green Bay has the highest excessive drinking rate of any metro area in the country, out of all the nearly 400 places considered here. I love Green Bay so this is definitely a huge bummer!
What Other Wisconsin Cities Made The Cut - And What About Minnesota?
Sadly, that is just the beginning. A good portion of the top twenty is made up of Wisconsin cities. Eau Claire came in at number two on the list, with Appleton rounding out the top three.
