It seems there are lists for just about everything these days. You don't have to search hard to find the best places to retire, raise a family, go on road trips, etc.

Conversely, there are a lot of lists telling us places and things to avoid such as the worst cities, most dangerous places, etc.

Those are all very interesting and beneficial, but what if you're just feeling a little frisky and want to find a fellow frisky partner for a little adult fun in Minnesota? Well, you're in luck because a study has been done on that too, and 10 Minnesota cities should get your attention.

How They Determined The Easiest Cities To Get Lucky In Minnesota

With tongue firmly in cheek, the authors of the study first had to determine what criteria help people hook up. They assumed that people would get frisky with plenty of young singles, areas where people aren’t married and have kids, and areas with lots of adult things to do.

With those criteria in mind, they used the most recent 2018-2022 American Community Survey Census data produced for Minnesota and paired it with data from OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0, and colleges from IPEDS.

They paid particular attention to:

  • Population density
  • % of population that’s female (More females than males)
  • % of unmarried people in each city
  • % of households with kids in each city
  • Colleges per capita
  • Bars per capita

They then gave each city a Chance To Get Lucky score.  Truth be told, they used a different word than "lucky", but I'm trying to keep this as family-friendly as possible.

The higher the score, the better the city is for getting lucky. They also limited our results to cities with over 10,000 people. For Minnesota, that meant a total of 95 cities.

Before I unveil their Top 10, I should reiterate that the authors of the study say that this article is based on facts and is meant purely as infotainment. It's the tenth time they've done this particular study.
